DI&DI Magazine is a pop culture blog. We cover fashion, film, art, and music. Here, we love to explore how the world resonates with art, and what our consumption of media, art, and culture says about us as a society.

I'm just a girl in this world

It all started with a desire to talk about the world from my bedroom—how it’s possible to see it from my window. As someone passionate about film and fashion, I created this blog so that everyone could find a little piece of themselves to explore here. In my twenties, with a computer and a cat for emotional support—the blog was launched!

Who's Didi?

Didi is my cat (her real name is Salem). Cats have an opinion on everything, even when no one asks them. They sneak up where no one expects them, cast Miranda Presley-style glances at their prey, and then move on to something else. Isn’t that the whole point of a fashion blog? Here, this is also her magazine.

Fashion

Fashion, that ever-changing beast that fascinates window-shoppers without ever fully letting us in. Fashion allows us to address the question of individuality and turn it into a universal debate. We love wearing clothes, but do we even know why we love wearing them? Fashion is an art form in its own right—an art of the body, an art of architecture, an art of acting, and an art of self-presentation. We love it enough to talk about it.

cinema

There are constant connections to be drawn between cinema and fashion—across time, day, and era. The seventh art has always engaged in a dialogue with fashion. Is there any better way to talk about the world than through images? Cinema speaks to us, analyzes us, and we analyze it in return.

culture

Throughout history, in every war and every crisis, the first to take the brunt of the attacks has always been Culture. She is exploited and punished for passing on our heritage, yet she speaks for us—of our heritage as a society and as people of the world. There is no greater gift we can give her than to never stop keeping her in the spotlight.
